Ok, it's very hard to read and hear about this without immediately flashing on the rogue general in "Dr. Strangelove, Or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love The Bomb". But things are heating up in the scientific and medical community concerning the dangerous long-term health issues of fluoride in drinking water.

It's not a new clamor by any means... and for over 50 years the water in America has been fluoridated and the government and public media have claimed fluoride as a safe and effective means of reducing cavities, especially in children. But there are some new folks out there saying that fluoride is not the benevolent and innocuous substance the public has been led to believe. And some of them are quite respected:

Dr. Charles Gordon Heyd, Past President of the American Medical Association says: "I am appalled at the prospect of using water as a vehicle for drugs. Fluoride is a corrosive poison that will produce serious effects on a long range basis. Any attempt to use water this way is deplorable." And Professor Albert Schatz, Ph.D. (Microbiology), Nobel Prize Winner strongly proclaims: "Fluoridation ... it is the greatest fraud that has ever been perpetrated and it has been perpetrated on more people than any other fraud has."

It is interesting to note that Belgium has completley prohibited the use of fluoride, not only in water, but in ANY product whatsoever. In fact, most of western europe has ceased putting fluoride in there water supply.
